Advanced Editing

Learning Comment:
From doing this, I have learned about how to edit to the beat and doing something interesting with the visuals really engages people. I really liked what i did with the second video because it is very typical of the pop genre, this is highlighted with the vibrant colours i have decided to use. The problem with the first video is that the background is likely to change on a windy day, and this really interfered with the desired affect of the video. Also, I think I need to tone the 1st video down a bit because it would look very out of place in a music video

Branding Research

Learning Comment:
I have learned about the importance of synergy when creating a brand for an artist. Everything should be as consistent as possible so that prospective audiences know the artist without even knowing them. which makes them more likely to buy their products. Its good to post pictures on instagram that sum up the overall sound/vibe of the artist so people get an overall impression very quickly and can decide  if they will like their music. Also, the facial expressions of the artist create a brand identity- some people may like artist who give of a serious vibe because they prefer music that has a strong message behind, and some people like them to look funny because they prefer light hearted music.

Photoshoot

Learning Comment:
From taking and editing pictures I have learned that it is very difficult to use photoshop especially to create a persona for an artist and making things look professional is also very difficult when you are not confident using different tools. I think when i come to make my own poster, I will take the picture outside because the photos came out a lot better. My favourite photo was the one of Ffion with her hand over her face and I think this could be something that I adopt for my artist. However, I think for my real photoshoot I should use more advanced lighting techniques to create an interesting look and enhance this in photoshop which would result in a really professional digipak and poster. Using coloured lighting would be a really fun way to create a stand out image for my artist.

Learning Comment:
By completing this, I realised what they typical conventions of a digipak poster are and how they differ for bands compared to singular artists. When I come to make my own video, I think I will use a lot of colour that really enhances the vibe of my video to create a large brand awareness. When I do my poster, i will probably use a close up of my artist as this seems to be the convention that singular artists use in compared to an obscure picture that bands tend to use. In addition to this, i will make the artist portray a facial expression that represents their genre of music (e.g. a strong facial expression for rock or a calming facial expression for soft pop music).
