Feedback on Pitch/Initial Ideas

From pitching to the class, I have realised that a knife is no appropriate to use in my video, because it is a weapon, there fore, I will have to place more emphasis on using a baseball bat instead because it is more of an everyday item. Additionally, I must do a risk assessment for the smoke grenades as they could pose a hazard to my actor and those around him. I should also bring a responsible adult with me in case anything bad happens- possibly my mum because she is a nurse and would be able to deal with any injuries.

This was the powerpoint of my pitch:

Test shots

Learning Comment:
By completing a test shot reel, it allowed me to figure out how two of my locations look so I could assess how effective they were for filming in terms of lighting. I found that both of these locations were very good but it would have looked better if I colour graded the image in post production. My actor was also very good and his lip syncing was believable and he was able to perform simple stunts like the wall kick. I especially liked the shot of the three guys at the back of the underpass because they appeared like silhouettes and seemed threatening. Next time I film, I want to do so when it is slightly darker so that my characters seem more threatening and so that it adheres more with the genre. But I need to check how the camera quality holds up in such conditions.

Genre Research

Learning Comment:
From completing this, I have found similarities within my chosen genre that I can incorporate in my own video so that viewers can pinpoint the genre straight away and those who like the genre will be interested by the thumbnail of the video. Moreover, this genre has quite a bit of variation so I can showcase a range of techniques and themes in my video
